The weekend will soon be upon us. I think the kinship level cap is still 18, and there is a large divide right now. A lot of lvl 10ish Shackers but also those in the late teens.

I was wondering if there was any interest in some monster pvp some time this weekend for those that are at the level cap.

I've never played it myself and it sounds interesting.

I tried it for like 5 minutes and it was very weird.

You start at level 50 but still have a bunch of quests, except it's to earn destiny points. However, you can't leave the camp because there's an enormous group of level 50... allies? whities? (what we called good characters in MUME) who are just waiting to burn your bones for XP or raid points or whatever motivates you at level 50.

So after dropping thousands of HP to ~80 I ran away and logged out :P

I poked my head in for an hour and it looks really promising. I joined a raid, about 8 of us and we were bashing around some Freeps. From my immediate impression, it looks like Creeps rely on numbers and coordination because a Freep can kill a Creep with relative ease.

We were doing pretty good until some Freep Rangers logged on. One had 8k hp, the other friggen 35k hp. Regardless, by that time it was an even number of Creeps vs Freeps so there wasn't a chance to win at all.

I think it would be awesome to do this together especially if we have teamspeak going for everyone.

Yes, teamspeak is a must for PvMP, but the in-game voice chat works fine.

PvMP is not by any means one-shot-wonder kills. You honestly have to gang bang a Freep to kill them, and vice versa for a Freep to kill a Creep, but not nearly as many people are required. Generally it appears to require a 3:1 Creep:Freep ratio to take one down w/o a creep being killed. However your mileage may vary. Burg's are incredible hard to take down.

Anyways an individual takes up leadership and will bark out a name. The raid will then rush and mob the freep.

This is why teamspeak is required. Fortunately it's even used in the public raids and to my surprise, the asshatery and chatty bitches was pretty much non-existent in the several full raids I was in.

The level of maturity in the LoTRO community is amazing.

I know I am reviving a thread; but better to revive an old one than to make a new one I guess. I was wondering if people are still game for PvMP at some point. I am, are YOU?

I'm looking to bring my FREEP in at 60. Either way, I'd like to get a group of us together - even as CREEPs.

I'd be up for some creep action I suppose. Probably just play a weaver since I'm well acquainted with it (I've got an r5 one on nimrodel that I just can't give up there).
